LOS ANGELES: Hollywood
The Grammy’s traditionally is a time of recognition of various artists achievements. With their fame and influence many have used the Grammy’s season as a timed platform to further various causes to aid the community at large. Will.I.Am is one of these individuals who brings a little bit of down home seriousness to the elated week of scene and be scene party goers.
“Will.i.am launched the i.am.angel foundation in 2009 to TRANS4M lives through education, inspiration and opportunity. As a part of his commitment to philanthropy, will.i.am and the i.am.angel foundation administer charitable activities and programs targeted towards providing college scholarships (i.am scholarship), financial literacy and home mortgage assistance (i.am Home) and college preparation and student life (i.am College Track).”
Before his performance at Avalon, the organizations held a private charity dinner capitalizing on the time frame of the Grammy’s to expand awareness.
It was a nice switch up to all the wild parties being held during the week in celebration of the Grammy’s. A dose of soft reality for a good cause isn’t always welcome but Will.I.Am managed to promote his foundation and the success of College Track with tact and taste. A very inspirational cause and one the crowd of supporters seemed to relish.
