The sequel to the science fiction trilogy The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released on November 15, 2013 in Brazil, November 20, 2013 in Finland and Norway, November 21, 2013 in the United Kingdom, and in IMAX on November 22, 2013 in the United States. The New York premiere was held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater and after-party at Top of the Standard (aka Boom Boom Room).
After winning the 74th Hunger Games the plot thickens as the two victors, Jennnifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, refusal to eliminate one another sparks rebellion in several districts. The duo become targeted which lays out the backdrop for the 75th Hunger Games. Ironically, both stars are from Kentucky in real life and have become global Hollywood stars and are under 24 years of age.
