POINT BREAK MOVIE PREMIERE & AFTER PARTY

The remake of a modern classic.

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood

And the movie premiere carnival continues as Point Break premiered in Hollywood this week.  Not as large nor grand as Star Wars, but still attracting a crowd of eager celebrity gawkers along Hollywood Boulevard.  The black carpet was lined up with media professionals and fans all anticipating the celebrity turnout.  Who was there?  Edgar Ramirez, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Chris Sharma and others.  Some say that nothing can compare to an original.  Perhaps this is true, but for certain big budgets and lots of hyper action scenes can make a remake very exciting.

PLOT:

“Thrill-seeking criminals perform a series of daredevil stunts to steal money and gems, only to give it away to the poor and less fortunate. Training for a job with the FBI, young recruit Johnny Utah suspects that only extreme athletes could pull off these heists. Utilizing his own special skills, Utah infiltrates the gang of thieves after befriending their charismatic leader, Bodhi. As Johnny experiences the rush of their lifestyle, his superiors fear that his loyalties are being tested.

How was the after party?  Warner Bros. seems to be slipping not only on the RED HOT big budget films this past year, but also in their party division.  Put it this way, the LAPD was having more fun at Star Wars, taking selfies, eating and mingling with celebs and guests.  If there is one comparison for a Warner Bros. party it’s like having an army of chaperons that ticket you for having fun.  That being said, a few of the cast members attended the after party and were “allowed” to even indulge their fans (the ones that pay cash to attend films thus keeping distribution companies and production houses afloat) for a few selfies.  The film has done decent with foreign sales at the Box Office.  We hope the flick can create enough buzz to make this remake a success in the USA.
