Hollywood seems to enjoy the MoMA for big budgeted feature film premieres and that was apparent the other evening once again.
If raised in the Western world where education in Literature is more or less (and sometimes less) an important component of “shaping the mind”, then you have read the English version of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (first published in 1862). It seems Hollywood has reproduced this classic story and casted modern stars: Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean), Russell Crowe (Javert), Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and even Sacha Baron Cohen made the cut (Thénardier).
