LOS ANGELES: Downtown
In the wake of Paris shootings, as they say on Broadway, “the show must go on.” Downtown Los Angeles hosted the highly anticipated Hollywood premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Surprisingly the ENTIRE cast showed up for the premiere (but not the party). All eyes were of course on Jennifer Lawrence, the star of the movie series. She showed up sexier than ever dressed in Autumn white with red lips.
A cold night for Los Angelinos and yet it was a packed audience for the premiere. It is not a question of if they movie will continue to have success as the preceding films, but how many hundreds of millions of dollar will be generated once again. The film releases November 20th and box office sales should be strong. Prior to the screening much of the cast did indulge fans with selfies and autographs. However, there was a sense of tighter security and not as much interaction perhaps in the wake of the Paris massacre.
“Realizing the stakes are no longer just for survival, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) teams up with her closest friends, including Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Finnick for the ultimate mission. Together, they leave District 13 to liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and assassinate President Snow, who’s obsessed with destroying Katniss. What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies and moral choices that will ultimately determine the future of millions.“
How was the after party? Let’s just saw we saw Natalie Dormer and that’s about it. Too cold or perhaps too much action on the red carpet and prior to the screening inside the theatre to keep the celebrities interested in attending the post premiere bash. Nevertheless, party planners didn’t skim on the budget as the venue was set up to handle nearly 1,500 guests or more. How many showed up? Perhaps a cool thousand.
