Imperial No. Nine is OUT and Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar is IN. Although remnants in the Mondrian space remain.
Victor LaPlaca (native Sicilian and also a long time associate of Todd English, who’s food we love also) hopefully will get the 5,000 square foot space up and running better than his predecessors. We attended a launch for Isola and found it packed full of beauties, notables and good food samplings.

Who was at the opening? We saw Jason Binn as we walked in of the new DuJour Magazine. He hosted two great events at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club and at Espace in New York recently. Erin Fetherston also made an appearance in the Mondrian’s newly renovated space.

Much of the decor remained from the previous tenants, chandeliers and glass fixtures (which they elevated a bit towards the ceiling). They swapped out the clear furniture for a wooden more traditional look and feel. I asked one of the models if the food was good. Her response, “I’m on a diet”.
