A young and talented Québécois makes not only fashion, but artistic moves in Montreal and New York.
Clarens Tyson, a 21 year old photographer from Montréal, Québec, started shooting in 2011. This very talented young artist began shooting with various modeling agencies in New York almost immediately. Clarens says, “I picked up a digital camera after seeing a lot of my entourage with DSLRs and arrange my first fashion shoot. I was hooked after that. After that I went to New York for vacation and this is when I really felt in love photography and with the city. The architecture, the people, the art, the fashion, the food and the mix of different cultures in New York make this city so beautiful. That’s why I went back to New York before I started shooting models in Montreal.”
When asked what he enjoys most about his profession as a photographer he said, “Mostly travelling, as I love location shoots and also, I am very inspired by Peter Lindbergh, one of my favourite photographers. His black and white pictures are very special because I feel that they never get old. My style is very diverse. I just love to create beautiful things. I love to shoot some raw, black and white images as well as big editorials on location or in a studio.”
Clarens Tyson is one to look out for in the near future. His artistic style and ability to capture raw beauty seemingly effortlessly is his art form. Art is simple and beautiful with his perspective and doesn’t need to be overly manufactured with so much paint, make up, loud music or smoke n’ mirrors (my ad lib).
